Intro to Intimacy 101 · with Brian Gibney & Reba Corrine Thomas

Come Find Your
Home Base.

Before we learn how to be intimate with someone else, we have to learn how to be intimate with ourselves.

Intimacy 101 is an embodied exploration of your body, internal signals, needs, desires, boundaries, and the ways you may have learned to disconnect from them. This isn't therapy. You don't need to be in a relationship.

A question, not a promise

This may be for you if…

Intimacy 101 is for adults who are single, dating, partnered, married, non-monogamous, or somewhere in between. Not a fix. An invitation into self-knowledge.

  • You're single, dating, partnered, married, non-monogamous, or somewhere in between
  • You've lost touch with what you actually want, in your body or your relationships
  • You keep mistaking inherited expectations for your own desire
  • You want to communicate what you need but struggle to recognize it first
  • You're curious about embodiment, but skeptical of clinical or performative wellness
  • You want a space to explore intimacy that respects your pace, privacy, and boundaries

Your home base

Before you can communicate what you want, you have to recognize it.

Before intimacy becomes something you create between people, it must become something you can experience within yourself.

Your “home base” is the place inside where you can feel your own signals — your yes, your no, your wants, your edges — and stay with them long enough to know they're yours.

Many of us were taught to override those signals. Intimacy 101 is the practice of finding your way back.

The philosophy

Five principles we move by

01

We're better together.

Community offers reflection, practice, support, and connection without requiring conformity.

02

The pace is purposefully slow and deep.

Growth happens in layers and respects each person's working edge.

03

We operate from wants, not shoulds.

Participants learn to distinguish authentic desire from inherited expectations.

04

The work begins in the body.

Practice recognizing an embodied yes, honoring an embodied no, and listening to internal signals.

05

Healthier individuals, healthier relationships.

Explore what you want, recognize your limits, and communicate more authentically.

The four-week arc

Four sessions, layered and slow

Each week builds on the last. Growth happens in layers and respects each person's working edge.

Week One01

Creating the Container

Meet the facilitators and group, establish agreements, and explore what makes intimacy difficult. Begin identifying inherited “shoulds.”

Week Two02

Listening to the Body

Explore why people learn to distrust their bodies. Introduce a guided body scan and begin reconnecting with internal signals.

Week Three03

Loudest to Quietest

Notice which internal sensations receive the most attention, which are ignored, and what distracts you from what matters.

Week Four04

Outside to Inside

Develop the capacity to move beyond superficial noticing, integrate the previous practices, and prepare for the in-person experience.
